Our mission...

🌍 Mark BikEarth πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

Hi, welcome to BikEarth.

I'm Marco, and in this space (which I hope will soon become video content on the YouTube channel) I want to tell you about myself, our philosophy of life, and the project we are building here.

I'm 48 years old and I come from the outskirts of Milan.
Five years ago, in 2020, I moved to the Biella Prealps to reconnect more deeply with nature and to live according to more authentic rhythms. After years in the city β€” deadlines, noise, and constant stress β€” I chose to reclaim a slower, more conscious lifestyle.
More human-centred, as we like to call it 😊

On this channel, we share an approach to life that promotes wellbeing, personal growth, and functional health of both body and mind, based on four fundamental pillars.

Our four pillars

1️⃣ Movement and muscular strength

Muscle mass is one of the true indicators of healthy longevity.
Keeping muscles active and functional helps prevent the natural decline associated with ageing and keeps the body elastic, strong, and resilient.

This is not just about the gym.
We talk about cycling (MTB and road), functional training, bodyweight exercises, strength work, stretching, and mobility. We also include Zone 2 cardio, SSIT sprints, and activities that stimulate endurance and cardiovascular capacity.

The goal is a functional body, elastic muscles, and vital energy at every age.
Our motto is:
"We don't lose muscle because we age β€” we age because we lose muscle."

A clear example comes from astronauts: during early space missions in microgravity, astronauts returned to Earth showing signs of accelerated ageing β€” up to 10 years β€” despite missions lasting only a few months.
The reason was simple: without resistance training, muscle mass declined dramatically, and medical exams showed a generalised ageing of the body.

2️⃣ Healthy nutrition and "second zero"

Eating well means nourishing yourself with self-produced, fresh, pesticide-free food, preferably local and seasonal. But we go one step further.

We also talk about "second zero": consuming food immediately after harvest, to preserve as much of its vital energy as possible β€” the energy contained in leaves, fruits, and sprouts.
True food quality lies in freshness and in the integrity of the natural source it comes from.

Some experimental observations β€” such as imaging of plant energy fields shortly after a leaf is cut β€” suggest that vitality rapidly dissipates with time. This supports the idea that eating directly from the land allows us to absorb not only nutrients, but also subtler forms of natural energy.

3️⃣ Emotional awareness and balance

Life brings challenges we cannot always change, but we can change how we respond to them.
Through meditation, awareness, and inner connection, we learn to react with positivity, resilience, and presence β€” transforming obstacles into opportunities for personal growth.

4️⃣ Rest and regeneration

The real beginning of the day is not when we wake up, but when we go to bed.

Deep, restorative sleep is the best fuel for facing each day with energy and clarity. During deep sleep, the glymphatic system works efficiently β€” the process through which the brain clears metabolic waste and toxins β€” helping to reduce inflammation, one of the earliest signals of imbalance and a key factor in cognitive decline later in life.

This is not about sleeping less to work more.
By breaking away from modern paradigms, it's about truly resting, in order to live better.

Sauna sessions, walks in nature, and moments of pause all contribute to optimal recovery of body and mind.
